Founded in 1996, SRS has worked tirelessly to become a premier high-precision CNC machine shop, delivering mission-critical products for the world’s top aerospace, defense, medical, agriculture, automotive, and many other Tier 1 customers and Tier 2 suppliers. SRS operates through two internal divisions: Division 1 specializes in prototype work, while Division 2 focuses on production quantities. Throughout its dynamic history, SRS has evolved into a manufacturing powerhouse located in Metro Detroit. We are recognized for our innovative approach to precision machining, backed by a “whatever it takes” attitude and a determination to manufacture the most complex CNC-machined components. SRS has heavily invested in equipment to support our capabilities, with over 40 CNC machines specializing in CNC turning, milling, grinding, EDM, and more. Our fully renovated, temperature-controlled 20,000 sq. ft. facility features 25 ft. ceilings and multiple overhead cranes. Additional in-house services include 3D printing, laser etching and engraving, painting and powder coating, sandblasting, light assembly, and CAD design with blueprint drafting. CNC & AUTOMATION MANUFACTURING

SRS combines a wide range of equipment sizes and capabilities, including 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines, all supported by cutting-edge technology. Our equipment includes advanced bar-fed turn/mill machines with live tooling and dual spindles, as well as full 5-axis machining centers with pallet pools. We utilize advanced CAD/CAM systems, including Mastercam (with specialized modules such as Blade Expert) and Autodesk Inventor for blueprint drafting. This combination of technology and expertise allows SRS to excel in both prototype and production quantity work.

QUALITY CONTROL

Quality is simple—and we stand by it. SRS operates one of the most advanced quality labs in the country. With over $1 million invested in the last two years, our temperature-controlled lab is equipped with industry-leading inspection technology. Our equipment includes multiple Zeiss CMMs running Calypso software, a FARO arm, Mitutoyo optical comparator, Tesa electronic height gages, and a Fulcrum manual CMM. Additional calibrated tools, including micrometers and height gages, are used throughout the shop floor. All inspection equipment is calibrated on a strict schedule, including employee-owned tools. We maintain documented calibration records and perform thread inspections using shadow graphs and GO/NO-GO gages. Our team includes full-time inspectors on both day and afternoon shifts. Every part undergoes: 100% first-piece inspection 100% in-process inspection at defined intervals Start-of-shift inspection Post-processing inspection Final 100% inspection and visual verification before shipment SRS supports First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and PPAP Levels 1 through 3. Our team brings hundreds of years of combined experience. When manufacturing from customer-supplied prints or CAD models, we proactively identify potential issues in design or specifications and communicate them before machining begins. For customers with proprietary products, we often recommend cost-saving improvements, including material selection, hardness (Rockwell), and design considerations related to fit, form, and function.
